Recognizing our own responsibility in our life decisions goes against human nature. Throughout history mankind has been more inclined to immediately seek a scapegoat to blame if anything goes wrong and not as planned. ‘Limits are necessary to give purpose and direction to life. Swimming in a sea of boundless opportunity would eventually lead to exhaustion and drowning. Winging it alone in a sky of boundless opportunity would lead to being lost. In human affairs, the making of choices, and alliances, implies limitation, for in choosing one path another must be abandoned.’ Certainly seems to be contradictive rhetoric coming from one who normally challenges you to remove your limiting beliefs. On reflection, the mind is divided between the conscious and sub-conscious, it is often the limiting beliefs which lay within the latter that slows your progress. Conscious limits are not necessarily limiting but necessary for your successful progress. |
